Joseph D. Stewartwas born July 2, 1954 in Portsmouth, Virginia into a Navy family. Joe attended University of Virginia and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science. Joe served our country for 6 years as a surface warfare officer in communications, operations and weapons. While serving our country, he graduated summa cum laude, from St. Leo College with a B.A. in Accounting. While attending University of Virginia, Joe met his sweetheart wife and moved to St. Petersburg where he graduated as Valedictorian from Stetson University Law School in 2 ½ years, obtained his CPA certificate and represented Stetson in a National Trial Competition. Joe was fortunate to meet Frederick Hardt, who hired and then partnered with Joe. He continued practicing with Hardt & Stewart specializing in civil litigation for 13 years – when he founded Joseph D. Stewart, P.A.

Joe is married to Louise M. Stewart, who owns a successful home health care agency. Joe and Louise have two adult sons, Skylar and Logan. Skylar is attending Stetson School of Law and Logan is completing his undergraduate degree at Stetson Undergrad. Joe and Lou are both hopeful and confident that the “boys” will join the practice soon.
